Yogi Cho (aka Simon Skinner) is the Principal of The Universal Energy Arts & YogiChild Academy. He has been a Martial Arts & Yoga practitioner for over 40 years and is an experienced teacher of Tai Chi, Qigong, Yoga, Healing Sounds, Ling Chi Healing Art, Meditation and YogiChild.
He was drawn to Western Magik as well as Eastern Mysticism and he started his Martial Arts training in Judo and Karate while at University in Glasgow in 1978. Over the next 25 years he continued to practice Judo in Scotland, England, Ireland & Japan.
In 1987 he left Scotland and headed to the Far East and the Himalayas seeking enlightenment and Fun, Fun, Fun, Fun, Fun!
He travelled the world, training at the Dionji temple in Nagasaki where he won his Judo Black Belt. On his travels he was fortunate to learn Mindfulness Meditation (Anapanasati – a simple, pristine practice emulating Gautama Buddha’s core teachings.) from Ajan Buddhadassa in Suan Mokkh, Thailand. During the retreat at the monastery he experienced Tai Chi and Yoga for the first time. It seems I was so lucky to have met and trained with Buddhadhasa Bhikku, as he is considered “the most influential teacher in the history of Thailand!
His first official Yoga Teacher training in Ireland was with Charlie Stevens and Marianne Gabriel’s Contemporary Yoga – graduating in 2000. He also completed Tantra Kriya Training with a disciple of Swami Satyananda Saraswati of the Bihar School of Yoga. He has received Yoga training from Santhi Prasad and Sadh Guru, as well as practicing with Jason Chan for many years in Advanced Infinite Tai Chi & Qigong. He has continued his training and self development with many great teachers such as Mantak Chia, Robert Peng and Lama Paldren.
In 2014 Yogi Cho and Pamela Skinner created a Teacher Training/Self Development School – The Universal Energy Arts & YogiChild Academy. To date they have had graduates (from the 360 hr Foundational training) from the UK, Finland, Sweden, Japan, France and Ireland.
Yogi Cho has published 2 books (Be More Alive! Handbook for Humankind and The Golden Dragons and The Wish-fulfilling Jewel) and has given Classes, Demonstrations, Courses and Retreats in Ireland, UK and Scandinavia.
Pamela Skinner
Pamela is the co-creator of The Universal Energy Arts and YogiChild. She worked in the public sector for several years before embarking on a career that focuses on Energy cultivation & Healing.
Trainings have included a Diploma in Psychology & Sociology, Therapeutic Massage, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, Reiki and Shiatsu techniques, which she practiced for many years both for private and corporate clients.
Pamela honed her skills further through intensive training and dedicated practice of the internal energy arts of Infinite Tai Chi, Chi Kung/Qigong, Chi Yoga, Meditation, Healing Sounds and, in particular, Ling Chi Healing Art.
Pamela is inspired to be the change she wishes to see in the world – cultivating a vibrant physical body, a pure loving heart and an open creative mind. She loves teaching, intuitively using a fusion of all of the skilful practices and healing techniques that are embodied in the Universal Energy Arts, and bringing peace and harmony, empowerment and strength to her students.
She shares powerful and gentle flowing combinations of Tai Chi, Qigong & Yoga in harmony with the Seasons. She teaches Meridian Stretching & Tracing Tai Chi Qigong flows, that stimulate acupressure points as well as the energy channels and meridians. These skilful practices activate the body’s natural ability to heal itself: releasing blocked energy, cleansing the body of toxins and strengthening the practitioner’s physical and energetic systems. The benefits of tuning into and flowing with the season while practicing Yoga can greatly enhance and balance our health and well-being on many levels.
Pamela is passionate about introducing these empowering life-enhancing practices and skilful techniques to both adults and children through her Retreats, Classes, Workshops and One-to-One sessions.
She loves life and counts her many blessings everyday, grateful for living so close to Nature to consciously embrace enthusiastically the lessons of each seasonal cycle both internally and externally.
